Palatine Beds

Community fun day

18, July, 2011

Hundreds of people who attended our 3rd event which raised £1,120 for Help for Heroes, the charity which supports members of the Armed Forces who have been wounded in the services of their country.

Performances by the Newcastle Roller Derby Team and training tips with Newcastle Eagles basketball players and coaches entertained crowds, while kids were kept busy in the sensational soft play area. Music was provided by Real Radio and a local steel band.

Bouncy castles, face painting, rookie golf games, home made cakes and novelty soaps, a charity tombola and delicious refreshments helped to ensure spectators had a great day out.

Also there were the Scouts, the Territorial Army and the local Sports Centre plus a Boot Camp so there was opportunities for those looking to find something a little more adventurous.
